Elisha Denkyirah
I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics and a research assistant at the Free Market Institute at Texas Tech University.
I earned my bachelor's degree in agricultural science with a major in agribusiness and a Master of Philosophy in agribusiness from the University of Ghana. I also received a Master of Science in international agribusiness from North Dakota State University.
My research interests include health economics, public health policy, international trade, economic development, and agribusiness. My recent research delves into the opioid crisis, regulatory responses to the Covid-19 pandemic, the African Growth and Opportunity Act, and economic policies such as carbon tax. I explore these topics using causal inference techniques. My prior publications examine wide-ranging topics including willingness to pay for crop insurance, climate change adaptation strategies, pesticide usage and frequency of application, food safety, environmental pollution, foreign aid, women empowerment, education, economic growth, and health policy.
